A late update

I hope this post finds everyone doing well. Here's what's been going on at the Oberg house over the last while.

Middle part of December I went to the doctor for a normal check up and they found a lot of blood and protein in my urine. So I went to the kidney doctor on January 2 and had to schedule a kidney biopsy for January 16. We will not know anything for about 2 weeks after the biopsy. I am feeling fine, just a little nervous about the outcome.

Saturday before Christmas Ryan walked upstairs to feed the dogs and walked into a hallway full of water! Yup, the toilet overflowed all night and we didn't know. It came from the tank. So there we were at 5:30 in the morning tearing out the carpet and padding while trying not to wake Gavin.

December 23, 2008 was a normal day just like every other day. Listening to the Disney channel, feeding Gavin and loving our dogs. Rachael, our 10 year old German Shepard, wanted to go outside. After a few minutes passed I called her in but she was very hesitant. Finally she came in with her ears and tail down. I gave her loves and told her that she wasn't in trouble. She walked around a little then came over to me like she needed help. At that time I saw her stomach was enlarged. I called Ryan right away and told him to come home. Ryan took Rachael to the vet right away. They did an x-ray and saw food in her stomach. So they gave her something to throw it up....but nothing came up. The bad news was given to Ryan that her stomach flipped and surgery was needed right away! Our vet told us that if they do the surgery she could be in serious pain a couple days after. We didn't want that for our little girl! We have been thru 2 other surgery's with her already, but this one was more serious! I am sad to say that Rachael went to Heaven on 12-23-08 at 12:10 pm. Ryan and I had the chance to love her a long as we wanted before they laid her down. I will never forget that day! I still cry for her.

Then a couple days later our garbage disposal decided to take a crap, then the TV!

On the better side of things, we had a great visit with Ryan's sister, Melissa and her husband Brian. They flew in from Delaware for Christmas. While they were here we went shopping and went to lunch and dinner. There was also a baby shower for their baby on the way! What fun times it was. So with all the heartache and pain, we still have a each other, a new TV, new garbage disposal and a hallway that still has no carpet!

Happy New Year!

Love Naomi
